As external associate of our law firm, Marina Markellou provides legal counsel on intellectual property law, technology, media and telecommunications law as well as European Union law.

Marina serves as research fellow at the Ionion University teaching the course “Legal Coverage of Cultural Products” and at the Institution d’ etudes Francaises teaching the course of “Corporate Law”. Ξ‘dditionally, she has provided legal services to the digital provider Digea SA, as regards the transition process of analogical TV to the digital era. She has worked in the past as legal advisor of the company “TRIP-HOP.NET” and the publishing company “PIFRANCE” in Paris, the Hellenic Railways Organization, and she has also concluded a stage at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva.

Marina has participated as legal expert in a variety of European Projects, such as the European Programme IDABC: Creation of the first European Free Software Licence (EUPL) in December 2008 and the Twining Project in December 2007 on the harmonization of the Turkish law with the European standards of Intellectual Property Law. She is a member of the Group of ALAI (Association Littéraire et Artistique Internationale), has participated in international conferences and her research interests focus on Intellectual Property Law in the digital age, e-commerce law, the Data protection Act and competition.
